San Antonio de los Alemanes

     Esta iglesia forma parte de todo un conjunto en el que se incluyen el colegio de la Purísima Concepción, o de las Teresianas, y el convento de las monjas que viven en el mismo e imparten enseñanza a numerosos niños de nuestro barrio.

     Realmente la he visitado en muy pocas ocasiones; ya que su interior siempre ha estado sumamente protegido, quizás con el fin de salvaguardar sus bellezas artísticas de la inseguridad que se vivió durante años en nuestro barrio. Inseguridad de la que la Hermandad del Refugio, que es la propietaria de todo este conjunto religioso, fue bastante responsable; ya que atrajo en la década de los 80 a nuestro barrio a la flor y nata de los indigentes madrileños, los cuales se alimentaban en el comedor que la Hermandad regenta en uno de los bajos de ese magnífico edificio y que da a la calle Corredera. Además de alimentarles les daban una pequeña cantidad en dinero, que la mayor parte de de ellos, se gastaban en vino que bebían en la plaza de Santa María Soledad ante la mirada atenta de muchos de los alumnos a los que las monjitas les daban clases.

      Por suerte hoy en día las cosas han cambiado y aunque la Hermandad del Refugio sigue alimentando a los indigentes en su local de la calle Corredera lo hace de manera coordinada con la policía municipal y con criterios más racionales que han resuelto el problema de la inseguridad.

      Cada vez que visito esta iglesia me recuerda a cuando estuve en la Capilla Sixtina en Roma. No existe en Madrid otro conjunto monumental tan bello y tan desconocido como éste. La descripción de su tesoro artístico y de su historia la encontré hace unos años en el siguiente blog:

      Hoy cuando iba a comprar fruta a Gila he aprovechado que su párroco tenía abierta la puerta y he entrado en ella para deleitarme un rato con las bellezas artísticas que atesora en su interior. En muy pocos barrios de Madrid uno tiene la oportunidad de tener su pequeño Museo del Prado particular. Estas fotografías que he realizado hoy son una pequeña muestra de esa belleza:

     I actually very rarely visited, and its interior has always been highly protected, perhaps in order to protect its artistic beauties of the insecurity that lived for years in our neighborhood. Insecurity of the Brotherhood of the Refuge, which owns all this religious complex, it was pretty responsible, as it attracted in the 80's in our neighborhood to the cream of the homeless in Madrid, which fed on the dining room runs the Brotherhood one of the lowest in this magnificent building and overlooking Loch Street, but also gave them a small amount of money, most of them, were spent drinking wine in the square Santa Maria Soledad before the watchful eyes of many students to which the nuns were teaching them.

      Luckily today things have changed and although the Brotherhood of the shelter continues to feed the homeless at your local Loch Street does in coordination with the municipal police and rational criteria have solved the problem of insecurity.

      Every time I visit this church reminds me of when I was in the Sistine Chapel in Rome. There is no other monument in Madrid so beautiful and so unknown as this.The description of its artistic treasures and its history I found years ago in the following blog:

      Today when I went to buy fruit to Gila I have taken his parish priest had opened the door and I entered in it to enjoy some time with the artistic beauty that treasures inside. In a few districts of Madrid you have the opportunity to have their little particular Prado Museum. These pictures I made today are a small sample of this beauty:
